King Fahd International Airport received the inaugural flights of the two airlines on the same day, where the flight of Go Air arrived at 8.55am, and Al-Jazeera flight arrived at 1.40 pm.  As per aviation customs and norms, the two flights were welcomed by the water salute.

A number of officials from Dammam Airports and representatives from both airlines were at the forefront welcoming passengers arriving on the first flights.

Acting CEO of Dammam Airports, AbdulRahman bin Mutlaq Al-Utaibi, welcomed the two airlines and stated that Dammam Airports is pleased to have them join the growing number of airlines flying to King Fahd International Airport. Noting the importance of the destinations, Knorr is a great addition to KFIA’s route map flown by Go Air, which has chosen King Fahd International Airport to be its first destination in the Kingdom and will play a major role connecting passengers to India.  In addition, the operation of Al Jazeera flights to Kuwait is a result of the growing demand for the destination, and passengers will benefit from connecting flights to several international destinations.  Al-Otaibi added that Dammam Airports attracted five new airlines during the year 2019, stressing on the company’s continued development of new destinations to serve the citizens and residents of the Eastern Province as part of the strategic plans to develop air traffic and create a remarkable passenger experience at King Fahd International Airport
